ABOUT

Keren Bein is a San Francisco singer-songwriter with a gravelly, soul-pumping voice. Playing guitar and singing since her adolescent years, Keren is known to throw down a rap here and there for fun, but primarily performs her own soulful folk songs. Keren’s lyrics reflect a struggle with love, urban chaos, and longing for the wilderness while in the heart of city.

Keren moved to the San Francisco Bay area as a small child, with her family moving back to Israel as she was entering her high school years. It was during these complicated months that Keren began writing poetry and playing guitar. Transitioning from poetry to song-writing in 2008, Keren released her first full-length album Sing it to Me (2010) at the Hotel Utah Saloon in San Francisco.

While working on her own music, Keren has continued performing both solo and collaborating with other musicians including singer-songwriter Erma Kyriakos, Paige and Chris Cotton. She recorded vocal harmonies on Chris Cottons’ album New American Century Volume One.

Since the release of Sing it To Me in 2010, Keren has added 2 other albums to her repertoire; 2011’s The Turn with a full band at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco and a third inspired after a 2013 summer in Belize, produced by James Riotto, Llegada will be released this summer 2016.
